Historical Landmark El Rancho Simi (1795) photo by Gerald S. Reynolds
This investigation was primarily to gain a little insight into the people who lived on the Ranch during the time the Strathearn family owned it.  However, as within any property which has exchanged ownership over the years as this one has, there can be many energies attached to it.  Tough to draw conclusions without in depth research  and tough to draw them just based on audio alone.  My own personal viewpoint and, that is all it is at this point is, there is spirit activity on this site.

Rancho Simi / Strathearn Ranch has had several owners since  1795 until 1969:  They were,

  • The Chumash (Native Americans) (Pre-Spanish occupation of the land) and prior to 1795.

  • Francisco Javier Pico and his two brothers, Patricio Pico and Miguel Pico

  • José de la Guerra y Noriega

  • the Philadelphia and California Petroleum Company headed by Pennsylvania Railroad president, Thomas A. Scott.

  • In 1887, a portion of the rancho was bought by a newly formed company, the Simi Land and Water Company.

  • During the 1880s, the adobe was occupied by the Jauregues--a family of French Basque sheepherders.

  • Robert P. Strathearn purchased the adobe and 14,000 acres of surrounding land for a cattle ranch during the early 1890s.  His family owned the property until 1969.

In the foreground the original adobe and in the back at the end is the two story addition built by the Strathearn family.
Here is a listing of audio captures during our investigation in the Strathearn house:

197  Strathearn House

11:16 AM August 30, 2014

2:51  Unidentified female voice says a name "Patrick Ames".

2:57  Whispered male voice says "Yah you"

3:33:  Unknown voice  "Hey!  Get out of here!"

3:41  Unknown female says "We're next to him"

3:43 Rob taps a piano key and says "That was me" and then a unknown female says "No and Intelligent"

3:45 Male voice says "Hey  Rob"

3:47 Male voice says "No end to it"

7:23 Unknown male voice whispers "They don't believe I'm here"

198 Strathearn House

11:36 AM

Music Room

22 seconds EVPs  two female voices.  One says "Leave me" and the other says "Don't rush it"

23 seconds Echovox,  Female voice says "I'd be buried here today"

26 seconds Echovox, Female voice says "I got married here"

28 seconds Echovox, older Female says "Please leave us"

43 seconds Echovox female says "And Ann let them in"

53 seconds Echovox Woman and man say "Far from here in touch with him"

1:51 Echovox sounds like woman speaking foreign language.  Perhaps German.

2:21 Echovox Rob asks for Robert Strathearn and a female voice says "dead"

199 Strathearn House

12:00 PM Music Room

5:42  I ask if they like cake or pie and a voice says "cake"

5:45  A male voice says "got to have it"

5:47 a female says "Ice cream"

5:51 Older sounding female says "apple too" in regards to apple pie.

6:03 I ask what kind of Ice cream and a female says "apple"

6:10 I ask if they like chocolate ice cream and a female says "apple"

Note: So one could conclude that the question about cake or pie was understood and they even offered a third choice of ice cream.  However, apple pie seemed to be a huge favorite.

203 Strathearn House

12:40 PM Music Room

Reading of Names

1:49  Reading of Strathearn names and there is a strange unknown sound  which may be a vocalization that sounds like "don't go".

204 Strathearn House

12:53 PM Kitchen

Echovox, sounds like two females having a conversation about the investigators being in the house.  One makes a comment and the other says "Ease up, they are suppose to be here".

47 seconds Echovox I asked if Pablo Montero was present and a voice answers "NO"  Then I repeated Pablo Antonio Montero?  The same voice responds "I killed him".

EVPs / Echovox Audio
I asked if they liked cake or pie in the way of deserts and received multiple answers with both cake and apple  as in apple pie being named.  A third choice of Ice Cream was offered by the spirits as well. This was recorded in the Music Room of the Strathearn House.
The following photos were taken by a full spectrum camera.  The lighting in them has not been adjusted.  They are not proof of ghosts or do I claim them to be.  They are interesting for the images that appear in them but, I cannot claim or prove that the images represent a spirit.  Any conclusions as to whether or not they are a spirit will be those made be each of you the individual viewer.  I will say, that one of our team who is very much a sensitive in his own right claims to have seen a woman in this dining room dresses in 1800s style clothing and where her hair up.  Whether or not that lends any credence to these images is up to you and what think.  I will note the primary three photos were taken with the shade raised on the window to the left which let in the day's sunlight.  A fourth picture was taken with the shade down at my suggestion to see how that would effect any picture taken.  As you can see there is no image with the shade pulled down.

Two possible conclusions in regards to the picture with the shade pulled down are 1. The images with the shade up is matrixing  or our imagination, or 2. The spectrum level of light at which the spirit make become visible to this camera designed to detect such levels of light was enhanced by the sunlight.  We will never know either way for certain.

See what you think.

Same first picture but zoomed in and cropped. A square highlights the subject. What do you think?

Picture 2 and the image may be more apparent to you in this photo. It seems to be more well formed and with more detail.

Picture 2 zoomed in and cropped.
Picture
Picture 3. Matrixing or do we see the image of what appears to be a young woman in a high collar, old fashioned long sleeve blouse with a long dress and her hair up?

Picture 4 with the shade pulled down on the window to the left. What do you think?
