Port Yielding (R-Deck Forward Storage area)

One evening in 2009, while assisting on the Friday night Paranormal Investigation tour I was allowed to explore the forward area of R-Deck. After I had looked around for a while and did some EVP work, I decided to make may way down back to the others who were 3 decks below in the Forward Cargo Hold.I was on the starboard side of the compartment. Starboard is the name given to the right side of the ship. It is starboard because most commonly if not always, the left side of the ship is the side the dock of the harbor is on. So left is always the portside. On a ship you have an imaginary center line and if you stand at that center line facing forward, to the right is starboard and to the left is port. Now if you were to be facing the after part of the ship or the stern, keeping in mind where the forward part is facing, Portside is still the port or the left if you're facing forward and Starboard is still starboard or the right side if you are facing forward. They are not interchangeable.

So, I was on the right side of the ship and the compartment (starboard) and I had to head to the left side (Port) to access the ladder which would take me down to the 3rd deck below and the Forward Cargo Hold. The EVP you will hear is captured as I am heading port. Keep in mind "port" and you will understand the correlation of our ghostly friend in regards to where he was as I was coming his way. He's very polite about it to.

Again, you can hear the EMF pulsating throughout this compartment. Hear how strong the response is.

Very masculine as well. Just a little angry and indignant as well. The question the entity asks is very interesting. When I ask "Are you in here?" The entity responds with "Who kept them in here?" As if whomever was being held against their will.

As an assistant to host on the Friday Night Paranormal Investigation, sometimes part of what I did was help out those who were maybe a bit over whelmed by the atmosphere of places like the Forward Cargo Hold. On one particular occasion one of our guests and I made our way back to R-Deck from the depths for the Forward Cargo Hold three decks below. While there we had a discussion about the ship and the reported hauntings and things which had been reportedly seen. I as any good investigator would do, used this as an opportunity to try and collect EVP. My hunch was right as you will hear the voice of a ghostly eavesdropper reinforce my point to the guest.

Awh yes, the storage area on R-Deck, in the forward part of the ship. If you have viewed other selections I have here from this part of the ship then you know this is one of my favorite places on the ship. This EVP has a correlation to this location for one specific reason. At the time this was recorded there was a table which had a many books laying on it. This books had very old copyright dates. So, one could come to the conclusion these books were on the ship while the ship operated as an ocean liner. Perhaps these books had some energy attachments but, that is only speculation on my part. I do not recall the entire story as to the circumstances under which this recording was captured. Basically we were doing EVP work and this wonderful capture was one we were fortunate to get.

There is some humor in the way our friend enunciates his advice to me. I believe I detect a tiny bit of a brogue as well. I think Irish but, it may be Scotish. Buy the book he says. Yes, himself that it is recommending something for a night's reading perhaps with a glass of Sherry or something a wee bit stronger perhaps. Maybe a snifter of brandy will do. This is one of my favorites.

March 2009 and I was blessed to have become friends with Patrick Wheelock who at the time was the RMS Queen Mary's true paranormal investigator. Legend Peter James had passed away nearly a year and a half prior to this time and his replacement Erika Frost was more of a medium / intuitive. As I came to know Erika better she was becoming more savvy with different tools and techniques in regards to Paranormal Investigation. But that was 3 years after this recording.

Assisting Pat Wheelock allowed me a steady access to the ship's underbelly. The 1st and 3rd Class Pool, the Forward Cargo Hold and the Boiler Room. I was allowed to venture into the 1st and 3rd Class Pool and do some investigating on my own before the tour group along with Pat would make its way down.

In 2009, I believe Patrick Wheelock has already been on the ship for four years or since 2005. I started assisting Pat in 2008, almost a year before this recording.

During this session I set up my video camera on the portside or leftside of the lower pool area, near the changing room. The camera as aimed at the starboard side, directly across. On the starboard side I set up my recorder and KII meter. This was were I would do my EVP session. As you will hear on the recording there is ambient sound in the back ground but in actuality when you are there or when I was there in the Pool area by myself it was dead quiet to my ears. The pool area has been known to impress upon people just how otherworldly it is with it's quietness. The pool is also known for being an echo chamber and your voice and other noises will reverberate throughout the compartment. One thing you certainly notice about the voice you are hearing is it does not reverberate or echo. Take that for what you will.

As you listen to this short piece of audio two things will strike you. 1. No EMF or any other kind of background noise. 2.The wise cracking tough guy attitude of the entity. A third would be the slight reverberation or echo sound. This is most typical of the Forward Cargo Hold. There is a female presence that walks these decks of the Cargo hold. I know this because I have recorded her a couple times and she comes through very clearly. But typically male entities all with a wise guy or tough guy demeanor tend to be found in this area. The cargo hold, during its time as a Navy ship and as an ocean liner was a place for shall we say machismo. This was heavy lifting and hard physical labor. Strong backs were required. You had to be tough.

I am torn on this recording but I truly do not know for certain which part of the ship it came from but, I am leaning toward R-Deck by the storage area because of the high EMF buzz you hear throughout. If I was force to make a choice I believe that would be it. Also the EVP response is very typical of similar EVP I have captured in that area of the ship.

Leave Me, Somebody Wants to Get By You (under the stairs, 1st and 3rd Class Pool)

The storage area under the stairs in the 1st and 3rd Class pool has a story surrounding it. A reportedly dark entity resides under the stairs. Sounds like your typical Halloween urban legend doesn't it? I can remember being at a Darkness Radio Event in 2007 and the host along with a couple of celeb EVP experts capturing a recording of what sounded like a growl under the stairs. Now that was 7 years ago so my memory may be fuzzy but, that is what I recall. This was my introduction to the dark force which allegedly resides there in. Something about the murder of a young woman taking place in the storage room under the stairs. However, none of which to my knowledge has ever been proven or confirmed.

But, just the same I wanted to do an EVP session in this little room and see what I could capture on my recorder. The above EVP is that capture. I have been in this little room several times but nothing truly sinister has ever shown up.
